Dry River Craighall Riesling 2018
Bewertungen
Kritiker über den Dry River Craighall Riesling 2018:
Bob Campbell, MW: 96/100 & einer der besten neuseeländischen Rieslinge 2018. Crisp, dry riesling with citrus, lime, orange, oyster shell, mineral and a suggestion of apricot. An attractive wine with impressive purity and underlying power. I'm happy to enjoy it now but expect that it will age beautifully. Drink 2019 - 2025
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 94/100 & Top 100 Wine from New Zealand. Aromas of crushed stones, spiced apples and pears abound with some gently grassy nuances, too. This has a very fresh, bright and juicy feel with a super succulent array of rich, fleshy fruit on offer.
Michael Cooper: 5 Sterne, Super Wine Classic. One of the finest Rieslings in the country, this is typically a wine of exceptional purity, delicacy and depth, with a proven ability to flourish in the cellar for many years. The grapes are sourced from a small block of mature vines, mostly over 20 years old, in the Craighall Vineyard, with yields limited to an average of 6 tonnes per hectare, and the wine is stop-fermented just short of dryness - the 2018 vintage (5*) has 5 grams/litre residual sugar. Bright, light lemon/green, it is invitingly scented, with intense, lemony, appley flavours, hints of spices and ginger, a minerally streak, good acid spine, and a long, tight finish. Best drinking 2023+.
Joe Czerwinski für Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 92/100 & Wine to look out for. Scents of crushed stone, baby powder, apple blossoms and lime mark the nose of the 2018 Craighall Vineyard Riesling. It's lithe and medium-bodied on the palate, dry (it's approximately five grams per liter residual sugar) and delicate, with a lingerie-like texture that combines silk and lace to pretty effect, lingering on the finish. Drink Date 2020-2030.
Verkostungsnotiz
Aromen von Pfirsich, Kiwi, Limettensorbet, Zitronenschale, Apfel und feuchte Flusssteine in der Nase und am Gaumen. Die Säure erzeugt eine frische Spannung. Komplexer, anhaltender Abgang.
