Reviews
James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 95/100. Aromas of lemon peel, flint and grapefruit on the nose. The palate is tightly wound with high-tension acidity and a creamy mouthfeel, giving notes of cookies, grapefruit, lime curd and beeswax. Nicely constructed with a mineral edge. Drink or hold.
Cameron Douglas MS: 95/100. A youthful and engaging bouquet with aromas of gun-flint and citrus, fresh peach and grapefruit peel, apple and a lees-based complexity. Delicious on the palate, dry and textured, a fine lees, tannins and phenolics frame core fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. Youthful still with a tautness and salivating finish. Best drinking from 2025 through 2029.
Tasting Note:
Lifted aromas of culinary herbs, citrus blossom, vanilla, hazelnut and white peach with complex oak spice nuances. The palate is intense and richly layered with a creamy mouthfeel and incredible drive and long persistence. Lingering flavours abound, with crème brûlée, crisp green apple and lemon meringue.

Vineyard: Two Terraces Vineyard in the Mangatahi sub-region in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The Mangatahi terraces were formed around 15,000 years ago by the Ngaruroro River. The soil is a mix of silt and sand, about 20–40 cm deep, made up of ancient river deposits, wind-blown dust (loess), and some volcanic material from the North Island’s Central Plateau. Beneath this topsoil lies a layer of red metal gravels, which go as deep as 40 meters on the upper terrace. Mangatahi is especially known for producing high-quality Chardonnay. Its higher elevation and inland location lead to later ripening, which helps create wines with fresh, bright flavours that are highly prized.Winemaking: Hand-picked Chardonnay from renowned
