spices, some liquorice. It’s medium-bodied, blue and black fruits, a light
grainy grip with bright acidity and some dried herb and chicory bitterness
on a finish of good length. Nice wine. Has a fair bit of energy. Drink: 2026 - 2030.

Food match: Estate Syrah is a wonderful accompaniment to all red meats, savoury and lightly spiced dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, as well as soft cheeses.
Vineyards: Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. Estate Syrah '24 was harvested between 25 March and 9 April 2024 from Te Mata Estate's own vineyards in Hawke's Bay's Dartmoor, Bridge Pā Triangle and Gimblett Gravels sub-regions.
Winemaking: The individual parcels of syrah from each plot were destemmed for fermentation and remained on skins for extended maceration before pressing. It was then run off to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months maturation, during which time it was regularly topped and racked. The wine received a traditional egg white fining before bottling.
