Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion: 96/100. Holy moly, this is simply heavenly, with starfruit, pulpy pomelo segments and glistening limes. Summer frangipanis and lotus flowers. Citrus manages to have the high tones of lime but base tones of ruby grapefruit, and acidity hums, grounded deep within the fabric of the wine. It’s slippery, slightly salty and luxurious while uplifting. Every touch point of flavour and texture has been considered and if this is not on your wine list or in your cellar as a modern day representation of Marlborough’s innate ability with Sauvignon Blanc then shame on you. Flippin heck it’s good!

Cameron Douglas MS: 94/100. Ripe, pure, vibrant, varietal and with a touch of elegant softness, a bouquet of irresistible charm. On the palate a dry wine with a core of flavour and texture. red apple and nettles, some cape gooseberry and fresh pineapple. Taut, crisp and dry with an organic texture, lovely mouthfeel and length. A wine ready to drink on day of purchase through 2029+.

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: 94/100. It's finely scented on the nose, showing grapefruit, passionfruit, lemongrass, and oatmeal characters. The palate displays excellent weight and fine flow, splendidly supported by linear mouthfeel and beautifully pitched acidity. Harmonious and structured with a saline texture, finishing persistent and mouth-watering. The wine combines exuberant varietal flavours with fine, mouth-coating textures, making it sensually satisfying. At its best: now to 2032.

Erin Larkin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 93/100. The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc comprises a blend of fruit that is estate grown and certified organic and purchased fruit (from a close grower in the Awatere Valley) that is certified as sustainably farmed. The wine offers passionfruit, pink grapefruit, lemon oil, and green leafy herbs on the nose and very attractive chalky phenolic grip in the mouth. This beautiful wine is restrained, textural, juicy and long. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink 2025 to 2030.

Stephen Wong MW (The Real Review): 93/100. The 2024 vintage in Marlborough is the gift that keeps on giving. Anna and Jason Flowerday, our Vignerons of the Year 2025, have released their rendition from this floral, expressive harvest and it delivers everything one would want from classic Marlborough sauvignon blanc, measured entirely in deliciousness. Fresh and vibrant sauvignon blanc with very expressive, generous flavours of gooseberry, citrus and cucumber along with juicy layers of accessible complexity in the form of cherry tomato, elderflower and warm, turned earth. The delicious, mouth-filling flavours cascade over the palate right to the zesty, fruit-driven yet dry finish. Unpretentious and charming wine for enjoying over the next couple of years. Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast: 93/100. Rich, all-encompassing aromas of fleshy, honey-drizzled passionfruit, peach and pink grapefruit—with freshly sliced bell pepper waiting in the wings—lend vibrancy to this fleshy, almost creamy wine. Dry but with oodles of fruit, this is a well made Savvy B from a small ... producer that's both crowd pleasing and food friendly.

James Suckling (JamesSuckling.com): 92/100. Juicy, mellow and seductive, with sweet lemons, fresh herbs and some pineapple on the nose. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Plenty of succulent lime character on the palate, with a fresh, bright finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

In der Nase markante Awatere-Charaktere von weißer Johannisbeere und Holunderblüte, kombiniert mit Guave und Zitronengras, gepaart mit wunderbar reifen Passionsfrucht- und Tropennoten sowie Anklängen von Basilikum und Limette aus dem Wairau-Tal. Am Gaumen präsentiert er sich fein und weich mit viel fleischiger Frucht, die durch eine reife, saftige Säure und eine anhaltende Mineralität ausgeglichen wird. Der Wein besitzt ein echtes Fruchtgewicht, das durch die schöne Textur aus der Hefelagerung und den Barrique-Anteilen ergänzt wird – absolut köstlich!

Weinart: Weißwein

Rebsorte: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Passende Speisen: Meeresfrüchte, insbesondere Austern oder leicht angebratene Jakobsmuscheln. Krabben, wilde Zwiebeln, Macadamia, geräucherter Daikon-Rettich, Tofu.

Weinberg: Ein Blend aus zwei speziell ausgewählten Weinbergen in zwei verschiedenen Subregionen von Marlborough: Te Whare Ra im Wairau Valley (30%) und Shamrock im oberen Awatere Valley (70%).

Bodentyp: Die Böden im Awatere sorgen für Textur und Struktur, während das Wairau-Tal für Fülle und tropische Fruchtnoten verantwortlich ist. Trotz extremer Trockenheit im Jahr 2024 blieben die Reben dank hohem organischen Gehalt gesund.

Weinbereitung: Größere Partien wurden maschinell selektiert, der Home-Block-Anteil von Hand gelesen und sortiert. Der Großteil wurde langsam und kühl im Edelstahltank vergoren, während 18% bei wärmeren Temperaturen in älteren französischen Eichenfässern (Demi-Muids) ausgebaut wurden. Alle Partien lagerten für die Textur auf der Feinhefe. Der Wein wurde nicht geschönt und ist veganfreundlich.

Zutaten: Trauben, Konservierungsstoffe und Antioxidationsmittel: L-Ascorbinsäure, Sulfite. Die Abfüllung kann unter Schutzatmosphäre erfolgen.
